There are many accessories available for camping and caravans. Here are accessories that will make your outdoor time more enjoyable.
Caravan Privacy Screens
Privacy screens provide shade and wind protection, as well as privacy. These screens attach to caravan awnings by sliding along a track or using velcro straps. They come in standard sizes that will fit most caravans. Some screens are equipped with D rings or guy ropes that can be attached to steel pegs.
Anti Flap Kit and Curved Rafters
The caravan awning is supported by anti-flap bars or curved rafters. This keeps it in place and prevents the wind from catching it. The addition of extendable curved roof rafters allows for better water runoff in the rain and can be stored in their own bag.
Rechargeable 12V Lantern
The 12V rechargeable lantern will provide light for many hours and is portable so you don’t need to carry batteries. These lights can be connected to 12V power throughout the day, ensuring that you always have light. The lifetime LEDs will never need to be replaced. For convenience, lanterns can be either freestanding or hung.
Folding Step
The lightweight, portable stool can be used inside and outside of your van. It doubles up as a footrest or spare seat, and can support 150kg. It can be folded flat for storage and some models include a handle so you can carry it around.
Rechargeable fan
If you camp off-grid in summer, a 12V rechargeable fan will be a must. You want one that is portable and lightweight with a handle and oscillating heads. Some can last for long periods before needing to be recharged.
Corelle Dinnerware
The dinnerware has been with me for more than half the distance around Australia without any damage or loss. These dinnerware are made from heat-strengthened layers of laminated glass. They are lightweight, nonporous, and take up very little space in the cupboard.
These pieces are microwave-safe. If you need replacements, you can buy whole sets or individual pieces at discount and supermarket stores.
12 Volt Fridge/Freezer
A 12V fridge is an essential addition to your car for camping and caravanning. A fridge in your car can be used to store food longer and is a good backup for the caravan fridge.
Yeti Drinkware
This tumbler is made of stainless steel with double-walled vacuum insulation. It keeps drinks as hot or as cold as they were when they were put in. An insulated wine tumbler prevents the contents from warming up by your hands. The lid helps keep bugs out.
Coleman Half Folding Table
Many camping tables can be adjusted in height, which makes them convenient for multiple uses on the campsite. When you’re done setting up the table, the steel frame legs will lock tightly and can be folded and clipped into place when it’s time for packing away. You can choose from different sizes and the tables have a foldable handle
Head Torch
When camping, a head torch is an essential piece of equipment. It allows you to carry all the necessary tools and illuminate what you need. These torch have an adjustable head strap and different light modes. They can also run for hours on rechargeable batteries.
